Howard University College of Pharmacy, located in Washington, DC, is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Assistant or Associate Professor in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Full-time faculty members will have responsibilities which include teaching, research and other scholarly activities. Position Description: A 12-month, tenure track faculty position, at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Candidate Requirements: Acceptable academic qualifications for this position include an earned terminal degree: a Ph.D. (or equivalent) is preferred. Candidates with a pharmacy background, postdoctoral training and evidence of success in innovative, extramurally funded research programs are preferred. Faculty rank, within the tenure-track, will be determined at the time of appointment. The successful candidate will report to the Chair of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department. The primary teaching requirement for this position is to provide instruction to Pharm. D. students in the Pharmaceutical Chemistry courses which include topics in medicinal chemistry, drug metabolism and natural products. The College has 36 FTE faculty, and several part-time faculty members who serve a professional student body of over 300 students and graduate students. The College is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and offers the Doctor of Pharmacy degree; distance learning based non-traditional Doctor of Pharmacy degree, dual PharmD/MBA and PhD degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
