California Northstate University College of Pharmacy (CNUCOP) is a pharmacy college dedicated to educating, developing, and training individuals to provide the competent and patient-centered care. The college has been fully accredited by the ACPE since 2012 and obtained the highest CPJE California Pharmacy Board Exam pass rate in 2016. CNUCOP is a part of the California Northstate University, which also includes College of Medicine, College of Health Sciences, and College of Psychology. Our campus is in the beautiful community of Elk Grove just south of Sacramento, the state capitol of California. The City of Elk Grove is known for an award-winning school district, a variety of outstanding restaurants, a historical district, first-rate parks, and much more. The city’s location provides easy access to major freeways, airport, rail lines, and ports. Elk Grove is also in a convenient location, within driving distances, to large cities including San Francisco, San Jose, and Lake Tahoe, and to national parks such as Yosemite, Redwood, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, etc.

Reporting Responsibility: This position reports to the Chair of the Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences Department for the College of Pharmacy.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities for faculty in pharmaceutical sciences include, but not limited to:
Teach Pharm.D and graduate students in areas of pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutical calculations, pharmaceutical compounding lab, pharmacognosy, physical pharmacy, and/or topics related to pharmaceutical sciences as expertise. The teaching work is assigned by the Chair of the Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences Department;
Develop and improve the courses as expertise;
Initiate and actively participate in a research program in areas of interest;
Establish internally and externally funded research program;
Maintain publications and other scholarly activities;
Serve committees of college of pharmacy and university as assigned;
Assist the college with accreditation and regulatory processes;
Assist the college and department with strategic plans and assessment;
Participate in department, college, and university activities as assigned or needed;
Advise Pharm.D students as assigned by the college;
Advise graduate students as expertise and as needed;
Mentor faculty as requested;
Engage in community service;
Act as a professional model to students;
Act as an effective representative of the college to the university and professional organizations.

Ph.D. in pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, drug delivery, medicinal chemistry, or related pharmaceutical sciences field.
Preference for postdoctoral/teaching experience and strong academic credentials in the discipline of pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, drug delivery, medicinal chemistry, or related pharmaceutical sciences field.
