Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer of the Company, the Senior Director will provide strong scientific and technical leadership to scientific team (Principal Scientists) within the ProteoCarta business unit located in Montreal. The Senior Director will lead and manage a team of at least 4 direct reports. This leader will implement processes for the effective management and overall conduct of a study as well as key performance indicators to monitor study conduct as well as meeting study deliverables. In addition, this leader will also be involved in the implementation of strategic planning that is aligned with the company’s objectives. He or she will be responsible for managing the scientific team, client interactions, implementing processes and procedures to support the growth targets of the company. To further support the growth targets, the Senior Director may also participate in the product development for the implementation of new services/technological platforms.
The Senior Director will represent the company from both a scientific and business perspective and will ideally bring strong scientific and technical experience in the development and application of proteomics and large molecule bioanalysis and an industry mind-set to interactions with senior management, and key clients. The Senior Director will also be responsible for effective and efficient planning and execution of the scientific services from the approval of program goals, setting of priorities, and final interpretation and completion of study results.
Facilitates growth through strategic and technical/scientific guidance as well as infrastructure
Scientific Operational Management
Coordinates with senior management to develop budgets and track/report on this budget throughout the year
Develop and maintain a staffing plan to recruit and hire relevant resources within this plan to deliver contracted services
Leads the evaluation and approval of scientific proposals to clients
Manages scientific team (Principal Scientists) responsible for scientific management of multiple projects across therapeutic areas, including study design, interpretation of results and writing and presenting reports and data to Sponsors, both at a strategic and tactical level.
Ensures that the overall study conduct (assays developed, qualified and/or validated as well as study sample analysis) is performed appropriately such that the study content is
scientifically/technically as well as data analysis/interpretation is sound
deviations and CAPAs are handled in a timely manner and for which impact assessments are performed with the scientific/technical context but also with the regulatory component
Ensures all projects are delivered on-time and within budget, ensuring high quality deliverables that meets or exceeds client expectations
Reviews and approves various interim and final study reporting; Authorizes SOPs as needed;
Provides training to Principal Scientists both on a scientific/technical context but also on a regulatory and excellent client service in terms of communication
Refines and further develops procedures for continuous improvement in terms of quality and cost effectiveness
Motivates and leads a high-performance team and provides coaching/mentoring
Develops and leads training activities to ensure appropriate resource development and employee satisfaction/retention
Initiates, plans and implements staff development programs which prepares team members to take on additional responsibilities as ImmuneCarta continues its rapid growth
