We are currently looking for a Business Development Director, Sciences to cover the Northeast territory, including North Carolina to New England. The position can be home-based in the territory, or based at our Souderton, PA location. The BD Director provides a constant stream of RFPs and Contracts/POs for the sciences operating teams by building and managing a customer portfolio.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Identify potential Analytical Services customers, contact, visit, present Almac Sciences capabilities and value proposition leading to receipt of RFPs for relevant Almac Sciences services. Represent Almac at various Industry Trade Shows and Conferences and provide report of relevant activity and feedback on conference value.
Facilitate Preparation of competitive proposals for RFPs, including clear agreement on deliverables, budget and timeline and provide compelling presentation of Proposal to potential customer. Negotiate proposal and work with Almac operations if necessary to modify proposal to lead to a win of contract and PO.
Provide reports to BD management on customer visits, proposals and contracts status and forecast of activity to track progress against annual financial targets. Use appropriate database programs (SalesForce).
Monitor industry trends and provide strategic guidance to management on Sciences offerings and potential areas of expansion / growth to better serve market demands.
Monitor delivery of project to ensure customer satisfaction and mediate any issues between technical team and customer if necessary.
Bachelor’s degree in a pharmaceutical science, life science or physical science.
Advanced degree (PhD) Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry / Analytical Sciences
Required Work Experience:
5 – 10 years of CMO or Pharma drug development experience, either ‘in the lab’ or as business development.
3-5 years of Analytical Chemistry and Drug Substance/Drug Product development and 3-5 years of CRO/CMO Business Development experience.
Knowledge of drug development process including basic knowledge of the regulatory requirements for various phases of development.
General knowledge of chemistry, analytical and drug substance from clinical to commercial.
General knowledge of structure of the pharmaceutical industry and it’s supporting industries, including ‘Big Pharma’, Biotechs, virtual companies, CROs, CMOs, etc.
